Taylor’s Management department heads and Student Council representatives have decided to set up a feedback box which will be placed alongside a complete bus schedule in efforts to monitor bus punctuality and safety.
Students may utilize the feedback box by jotting down the number plate of any bus that arrives late or has a reckless driver.
Prior to this, many students complained about the bus’s safety measures and unpunctuality.
Taylorian Juand Tiama said the bus aisles were usually filled up as there were a large volume of passengers.
“Sometimes we have to stand. It’s dangerous, but then again, it’s only a 10 minute ride,” he said.
Louis Tang, a Business school student who stays at Suriamas apartment said, “Taylor’s should provide more buses at the Suriamas pick up point because what we have now is insufficient plus there’s always a mad rush to get on the bus especially in the morning,”
“Even this morning, lots of students including myself were left behind because the bus was already full. Most of us had to take taxi as the last option,” he added.
A Lakeside resident who declined to be named said the bus often had problems with punctuality.
“I remember the schedule telling us the bus would arrive at 12pm but we ended up waiting for more than an hour and not even a single bus showed up,” she said.
“With this feedback box, I hope Taylor’s will listen to everyone’s feedback and take action against the reckless drivers,” she added.
New shuttle bus to Pyramid
Taylor’s have provided two additional shuttle buses for students to travel between Sunway Pyramid and the Lakeside Campus at 30 minute intervals.
The shuttle bus service which is only available on weekdays commenced on March 30.
The first bus departs from Sunway Pyramid at 7.30 am outside TGIF Restaurant (New Wing) while the last bus departs from Block B, Taylor’s Lakeside at 8.00 pm.
When asked to comment on the new shuttle bus service, a student who declined to be named said, “I think this is more convenient than taking public buses or taxis every week”.
Student Central Manager Saw Bee Lian said two additional buses have been added to the existing ten.
