Shaykh Riad Quarzazi engages the audience
The speaker, Shaykh Riad Quarzazi who delivered an impactful message centered on soul-searching, stirred the emotions of Taylor’s Muslim youth.
Soul-searching questions were posed to the Muslim youth of Taylor’s as the speaker brought audiences to tears by delivering a strong and inspiring message.
‘Message to the Youth’, organised by the Muslim Students Association (MSA) of Taylor’s University, was held on March 28.
The speaker, Shaykh Riad Quarzazi, a visting lecturer from Canada with a background in Neuro-linguistic programing, personal development techniques and public speaking coaching, quoted verses from the Qur’an and shared insights from Prophet Muhammad’s life throughout his inspiring talk.
Shaykh Riad explained that he wanted to deliver his message to the youth, as they often misconceived Prophet Muhammad’s teachings to be directed only towards the elderly.
He said that it was important for youths to understand the messages he conveyed, as youths were the pillars of a nation.
“Youth are the air that we breathe in,” he explained to the 130-strong crowd.
At the beginning of the talk, Shaykh Riad said that he intended to give out five messages, to which he wanted the audience to go back and ponder on.
Instead of explaining all five messages, the lively Shaykh engaged his audience by posing the messages in form of questions.
He asked the audience whether they knew the purpose of their being, who their friends were, if they were proud of their identity, whether they respected their parents and finally if they were happy with their lives.
“The speaker was a breath of fresh air. Energetic and dynamic,” said Fizree Rashid, President of MSA.
“The talk was smooth overall. A month of careful planning amounted to a few hours of inspiration and revelation. Our hard work paid off,” he added.
