HELP me! Taylor’s falls short against their taller opponents
Both Taylor’s male and female teams were satisfied with third place in the MAPCU Basketball 3 on 3 tournament held on May 7 at Lakeside Campus.
The boys cruised through the third place play-off match and won 20-13 against University College of Technology and Innovation (UCTI).
In the semi-finals, Taylor’s succumbed to a 6-15 loss against HELP University. Taylor’s was leading 6-4 at halftime but HELP came back strong in the second half.
“For me, winning or losing doesn’t mean anything as long as the team has spirit,” said Captain Timothy Fong Wai Kit.
HELP went on to clinch the 3 on 3 basketball title after defeating SEGI in the finals.
Similarly, the girls’ team grabbed third place by beating INTI International University 7-6 in a tight match.
Taylor’s lost to UCSI University 5-7 in a semi-final match that saw both sides missing a lot of chances.
“I am satisfied with our performance because we put up a good fight against teams with national players. It shows that as long as we work hard, we can do it,” said team Captain Thum Shea Wen.
Meanwhile, HELP University’s girls’ team beat UCSI in the final match, hence doubling their triumph in the 3 on 3 basketball tournament.
