Taylor's at a glance

Image talk walks the walk

A talk titled “Image of a Polished Professional” held on March 23 proved to be useful for students graduating soon.

The speaker, Ana Cheong, an image and personal branding consultant exposed students to ways to create a professional image by choosing the right clothes and setting their own “brand messages”.

Final year Journalism student Joyce Ling said, “The talk was very helpful. It motivated me to design my own image to manage how potential employers view me.”

Lending a hand to Japan

Taylorians did their part to “Give a Hand, Save Japan” when Taylor’s Anime Society set up a booth to raise funds for the earthquake and tsunami victims in Japan earlier this month.

“Many people visited the booth and donated between RM1 to RM50,” President of Anime Society Edwin bin Sabturani said.

Anime Society member Yu-an said this fundraising activity was close to her heart as she just got back from Japan and had fallen in love with the country while she was there.

Racing awareness

Colourful decorations and costumes symbolising the beautiful variations of races adorned the front of Student Life Centre when American Degree Transfer Program students organised “One Race Life-Style” on March 30.

“One Race Life-Style”, the main event of their “Desensitising Race” campaign, featured booths, mini games and a cultural fashion show.

The Malaysian Biker Community also lent their support by exhibiting an array of motorbikes near the fountain.

Event committee member Phua Zi Qin said the campaign’s main objective was to raise awareness on desensitising race and bring people together.
