As part of efforts to raise awareness on issues related to sexuality and sexual behaviours, Taylor’s University organised a sex education campaign titled “You, Me and Sex!”
The campaign held from April 12-14 aimed to educate the public on enhancing the quality of relationships, to make informed sexual decisions and to be aware of the potential negative consequences that may arise from sexual behaviours.
Head of Taylor’s Counseling and Psychology Services Center Dr Adnan Omar kick-started the campaign with a talk on relationships and dating.
Several aspects discussed in his talk included satisfying the opposite sex, sexual orientation and practicing safe sex.
Dr Adnan advised students to “know yourself, know your partner and know what you are getting into” to ensure safer sex and a healthier relationship.”
He also highlighted the fact that a person’s ability to satisfy their partner will be affected if he or she is under stress.
Other talks on birth control, sexually transmitted diseases and a workshop on sexual responsibility were also held.
The campaign was held in collaboration AISEC, LPPKN and Kafe@teen.
