Restaurant review: Popi Popi Pizzeria

The aroma of freshly-made food wafts through the air from the newly-opened Popi Popi Pizzeria. The colourful and vibrant ambience in addition to the spacious seating ensures a comfortable and private dining experience.

One of the set lunches consists of a 10-inch pizza of your choice, pumpkin soup and a glass of lightly-sweetened iced lemon tea. You might have to dig deep into your pocket but the food is without a doubt delizioso.

The pumpkin soup was served first and had a light flavoured natural taste that was not enhanced by any additional preservatives that often make a soup too salty. One cannot go wrong with either Hawaiian Chicken or Beef Pepperoni pizzas, the choices available for the main course.

With a crispy crust, every bite was filled with portions of pineapples and tenderly moist chicken pieces. Mozzarella cheese also melts into the crust, teasing your tastebuds.
A pasta dish, Spaghetti Aglio Olio, comes as a generous portion of pasta tossed with strong-flavoured ingredients such as diced garlic, black pepper, onions and basil with olive oil. It is a dish for those who enjoy their pasta simple.

Overall, Popi Popi offers a wide range of freshly wholesome made pastas and pizzas with great taste. Though the price would amount to more than your average mamak or hawker meal, when compared to the quality of the food and inviting charm of the pizzeria, it is definitely worth the Italian experience.

Buon appetito.
